Katy Forsythe

Katy Forsythe loves to introduce new students to the sport of agility, as well as helping more advanced students problem solve challenges in agility courses. She wants folks to know that agility will strengthen their bond and communication with their dog and provide physical and mental exercise for handler and dog, all while having lots of fun!

Katy has been competing in agility since 2006. She has trained and competed with a Miniature American Shepherd, Golden Retrievers, a Vizsla; a Border Collie and a Sheltie. Together, she and her dogs have earned many titles, including seven Master Agility Championships and four Preferred Agility Championships. They have qualified for, and competed in, numerous AKC National Championships and the AKC National Agility Invitational. While most of her competitions were in AKC events, she has also competed in USDAA, UKI, NADAC, CPE, ASCA and TDAA venues. Katy is certified to carry out AKC ACT, CGC and Trick Dog evaluations.

In addition to teaching agility classes, Katy continues to learn by attending classes, as well as being a student in in-person and on-line agility seminars/classes. She has had the opportunity to participate in seminars presented by many instructors who are regionally and nationally known in the agility world. She sees this as a way not only to improve her skills, but also to gain knowledge that can be shared with her students and their dogs.
